In 2010, the National Association of Professional Environmentalists (NAPE) initiated the Sustainability School program, in a time where environmentalists, human rights groups and communities were increasingly confronted with the alarming rate at which natural resources and human rights were being abused in Uganda. Hence, the Sustainability School program aims to building community capacity, resilience and cohesion in Uganda.

This report provides an overview of the past five years of the Sustainability School; highlighting key achievements, challenges and a way forward for community participation in natural resources governance.
