Uhuru wa Mbegu za Wakulima | Produced by TOAM | August 2016
The Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement (TOAM) has been working to promote sustainable agricultural practices in the country, and in doing so, it has been documenting some of the opportunities and constraints facing small scale farmers.
One example is this documentary film about the struggles of small scale farmers to protect their right to owning, storing and sharing their local seeds – a right that is serially being robbed from them by the more business-friendly laws and policies in the country.
Farmers, politicians, extension officer and seed-traders are all covered giving their perspectives.
