Conference: The future of regional economic integration in the context of European–African trade relations

The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung and the Southern and Eastern Trade Information and Negotiations Institute (SEATINI) organised an international colloquium from the 7th to 9th September 2016 in Arusha, Tanzania under the title “The future of regional economic integration in the context of European–African trade relations – overcoming paradoxical patterns”. The objectives of this expert dialogue was to provide a platform to foster the exchange of views and to build common ground enabling increased networking and coordination among representatives from government, civil society organisations, private sector and trade experts from Africa and the European Union.  The dialogue also discussed the current dispensation regarding EAC – African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP)/EAC Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and the necessity to strengthen regional trade/regional integration in Africa.
