This study by SEATINI – Uganda examines the influence of the European Union (EU) in the global energy transition debate from fossil fuels to clean energy within the context of Europe-Africa relations and the implications on African economies. Specifically, the study interrogates the current narrative on energy transition to ensure an equitable and inclusive energy transition that will take into consideration the needs of the planet and the livelihoods of the people.
The study also identifies the challenges imposing the status quo and impact analysis on Africa from an Afro centric perspective. The study makes analysis of the Afrocentric narrative with viable alternatives for energy transition that support social justice and Africa’s structural transformation
