The 3rd National Women's Land Rights Conference will be held from the 10th -11th of August 2021 virtually via Zoom platform.
This year the Women Land Rights Movement (UG) and partners have organized a conference under the theme; "Tracking progress of women's rights to land in Uganda 2016 - 2021 and the implications to national socio-economic transformation ".
The virtual conference will be a time for self-assessment of how far the movement has come, what has been achieved for the past five years; what more can be done for the realization of women's land rights and security of tenure, what commitments need to be made, which champions do we need on board moving forward.
Further, it will as well help building consensus at country level on requisite national level actions for better protection and advancement of women’s rights to land that should result into an equitable and transformative change within the land sector. The 3rd National Women’s Land Rights Conference will be divided into plenary sessions and substantive sessions providing participants the opportunity to focus on specific areas of interest and experiences. At the end of the Conference, it is envisaged that, a revamped, visible and strengthened multi stakeholder movement on gender equality on land to drive the women land rights agenda for the next five years will be established.
We shall be thrilled to have you present at this conference. The Concept Note and Tentative Program are attached for your information.
